About the Host
I.Ø. Moon, a native of Lafayette, LA moved to New Orleans, LA in 1999, where she started her dance career. I.Ø. Moon has developed a unique and effective teaching style in the past 18 years of teaching and performing a variety of dances of the African Diaspora.
She began dancing and studying burlesque in 2019, her exploration led to her work in pleasure advocacy. With a mission to prioritize body positivity, healthy sexual relationships, and the decolonization of black sexuality- she understands that sexual energy is creative energy, is a spiritual practice, and wants to share that with others.
This led to her co-creating and hosting her highly anticipated multi-sensory quarterly experience, “Moanin’ at Midnight with Moon,” in 2021. MMWM's purpose is to create spaces that acknowledge, deconstruct, and celebrate sexuality as a Black person.
